Condyline

Do you experience regular genital warts outbreaks? Condyline can help to clear an outbreak in just four weeks.

  • Non-invasive and effective
  • Easy to apply cream treatment

Condyline is a solution that is used in the treatment of genital warts. It contains a podophyllotoxin solution taken from the roots of a species of plant called Podophyllum. Condyline is a long-established treatment for genital warts and was the first prescription medication to be approved for this use.

Condyline is a topical solution with an excellent record for safety and efficacy. If applied correctly it is extremely fast acting, with visible results in as little as three days. Any outbreak should clear completely within one month of taking this treatment.

Condyline as a treatment

The podophyllotoxin in Condyline solution has the ability to break through the outer tissue of the wart in order to reach the nucleus. This nucleus is effectively the reproduction centre of the cells, where the growth and cell division of the wart is controlled. The podophyllotoxin has a lethal effect on the nucleus so this process, which is essential to the health and growth of the genital wart, is stopped. As the wart cells die, healthy tissue grows in their place and the outbreak is cleared.

Benefits of Condyline

There are a number of benefits of this treatment. Most importantly, Condyline solution is a very fast treatment, clearing up an outbreak entirely in just four weeks. As a non-invasive treatment, it will not cause the pain or scarring often associated with surgical treatments such as cryotherapy and electrocautery. You are instead able to apply the cream yourself and can take control of your own treatment, without having to arrange an appointment with a doctor.

Side effects

Condyline is considered a very safe treatment, but there is a small risk of side effects. If you do experience such effects, they will likely be mild and will not last for very long. They can include inflammation or stinging at the treatment area, dizziness and vomiting. It is very rare to experience side effects that are very serious, but there is a small possibility of suffering a severe allergic reaction that can include hives or swelling of the lips, tongue or face. If this occurs, you should seek emergency medical treatment.

Taking Condyline

Condyline solution is a safe treatment for most adults and elderly people, but it is not suitable for children. Adults who are particularly sensitive or allergic to podophyllotoxin, or any other ingredients present in the medication, will not be prescribed this treatment. Pregnant women or those who are breastfeeding should also not use this medication.

Dosages

Condyline solution should be applied directly to the warts, either with a clean fingertip or the provided applicator. Both the infected area and your hands should be washed carefully prior to the application. You should apply the solution twice every day for three days in a row, and then take a break for four days. Continue this weekly course of treatment until the genital warts have disappeared, or until four weeks have passed. If the warts have not cleared after four weeks, you should seek an alternative treatment.

You only need to apply a small amount of solution to each wart. Applying too much can lead to irritation of the area.
